Hello this is my new web site  :)
...My thanks to Adam , my son for helping me set it up ! 

2020 was an EXTRAordinary year !
​ No day workshops or regular group classes since March .!! Everything cancelled because of Covid ... BUT I have been dancing outdoors in both Hebden Bridge + Saltaire when weather allowed ( see Gallery for photos )  + started doing Zoom workshops for Beltane ( with live music ) Summer Solstice ( with live music ) Balkan Special ( with live music ) World Sacred Circle dance day ( Recorded music )  Autumn Equinox ( with live music ) Samhain ( Recorded music ) and Winter Solstice ( Live music ) AND also started a regular Zoom Wednesday morning class for my locals which continues.. . I did a couple of evening sessions - distanced dancing at Mytholmroyd Community Centre .before we had to stop.
With help from my son Adam - videographer - I have started some You Tube videos teaching some of the dances for the Zoom sessions.

I  also did a Women's dance + ritual day on Zoom for the Celtic festival of Imbolc on 6th February .

Spring Equinox I'm planning a day on March 20th  - is was  meant to be in West Burton North Yorkshire .. but I have now cancelled it and will be doing it  by Zoom with recorded music . IF weather + restrictions allow I will also do some outdoor events locally too. Please get in touch by email ing me : sophiafreedancer@talktalk.net
BIRTHDAY Zoom  Charity Fundraiser Sunday 18th April 7pm start . 
Guest teachers led a dance of theirs , then some Balkan dances then some Balkan Rom dances .. email mail me for the details + Zoom code ...

And JULY 2/3/4th is booked for Robin Hoods Bay with all live music ....I am waiting to hear what  Gov restrictions will be by then...  We went ahead with 1/2 the amount of dancers + it was a very safe + successful event  and wonderful to be back dancing again in person . 
September 2021 . Autumn Equinox dance day in Cragg Vale near Hebden Bridge at St John in the Wilderness church . Recently modernized - large + airy -  a great venue and about 20 of us danced there distanced ! 
October 2021 . Womens wend in Hebden Bridge to celebrate Celtic festival of Samhain . Again smaller numbers and bigger venue and distanced . A successful wend ! 
December 2021 . Planned day for the Winter Solstice at St Johns Church - please get in touch for details .

​REGULAR GROUPS back in action !  September 2021 . 

My regular Hebden Bidge group
​ has now migrated to Mytholmroyd Community Centre for a bigger better aired space on Mondays at 2-4 pm  £10 . Please book in advance  by emaling or calling me on 01422 843000 as I am limiting the numbers . I'm asking everyone to do a Lateral  Flow test before coming . We dance without joining hands or holding scarves . 

SALTAIRE group Wednesdays 10.30 -12.00 AND 12.30- 2.00pm . Smaller groups distanced or using scarves 
A few spaces available . £7 per session in blocks of 4 weeks .
